The Sunrises

This page is made to catalog all of the sunrises my dad and I did from atop mountains from November 11, 2018 to November 3, 2019. We climbed the following thirteen mountains, one every month, to celebrate my dads 50th birthday, which was in November 2019. I promised him that I could find a perfect mountain each month that would have an excellent view toward the sunrise. Some (not all) of these mountains even gave us a great sunset as well. I hope you enjoy all of these blogs, and especially the scenery. Our goal was to get a sunrise from many different portions of the northeast and I'd like to think we accomplished that.

I recommend each of these hikes, and I highly encourage others to try a challenge like this, doing a sunrise each month for thirteen months (a hiker's year). Whether you want to climb the mountains below, or create your own list, you should really challenge yourself and do something else of this caliber.

1.Mount Alander (November 11, 2018)

2.Mount Jackson (December 9, 2018)

3.Mount Major (January 12, 2019)

4.Mount Monadnock (February 10, 2019)

5.Camel's Hump (March 9, 2019)

6.Wittenberg Mountain (April 16, 2019)

7.Pharaoh Mountain (May 11, 2019)

8.South Moat Mountain (June 3, 2019)

9.Avery Peak (July 8, 2019)

10.White Cap Mountain (August 11, 2019)

11.Hurricane Mountain (September 9, 2019)

12.Percy Peak (October 13, 2019)

13.Bromley Mountain (November 3, 2019)

The next few were done during this year or before, but did not count toward our thirteen. This is because they were done before the year started, or that they were just done for fun. We only counted one per month so we were able to keep an organized list. Some these are even better than the hikes that counted.

1.Goose Eye Mountain (June 26, 2018)

2.Mount Race (July 30, 2018)

3.East Mountain (July 16, 2019)

4.Aziscohos Mountain (August 13, 2019)

I will not be posting future sunrises/sunsets on this page. I hope you enjoy all the blogs listed above, and I highly recommend each mountain. Every single one is unique in its own way, and it was a life altering experience to go through this year-long challenge.

The sun-kissed beaches and the serene blue seas are only part of the Goan fable. Walk through the meandering lanes and you’ll see a vibrant way of life, colourful and carefree in its nature.
